Chrusciki (Angel Wings)
Chrusciki “kroo-SCHEE-kee” (also spelled “crusciki” in some transliterations) are a traditional Polish pastry, sometimes called “angel wings” or “Polish bow ties.” These treats are made with a thin, delicate dough that is rolled out very thinly, cut into strips, and twisted or shaped into bow ties or ribbons before being deep-fried until crisp and golden. After frying, chrusciki are generously dusted with powdered sugar for a light, sweet finish.
These pastries are known for their crisp, airy texture and delicate sweetness, making them a festive favorite for holidays and special occasions.
